Metier Capital Growth Fund III

The growth capital private equity fund invests into local and regional mid-market companies across the Sub-Saharan region.

Investment strategy

The fund invests in growing businesses and contributes to strategy building, earnings growth, and resilience. The strategy builds on the investment themes of population growth with increasing urbanization and demand for goods and services, an expanding lower-middle and middle class, technological change, and innovation driving efficiencies across value-chains, and the comparatively poor infrastructure present across SSA.

Development Rationale

The impact thesis for MCGF III focuses on improving access to finance for businesses and capital markets, mobilizing private finance for development that has measurable impact on economic growth and job creation in SSA, and supporting the institutionalization of local and regional businesses.

Investment Rationale

MCGF III will contribute to SIFEM Outcomes 1 and 2 by investing growth capital in support of entrepreneurial teams and platform build-ups that create businesses of scale, define new markets, support local job creation, and elevate sustainability standards. With this investment, SIFEM supports an existing partner with a strong trackrecord alongside other DFIs (IFC, FMO, Proparco, DEG, BIO, OeEB, Finnfund) and some private investors.
