Although not limited by sector, CoreCo targets companies primarily in the following industries: healthcare, financial services, IT/software, consumer goods, retail and logistics business services and telecom/wireless. SIFEM has committed USD 4m to the fund.
Importantly, the fund addresses the lack of growth capital in the Central America, which remains an underserved market for private equity. The capital provided through CoreCo will allow Central American companies to expand and regionalize, generating employment for local populations and contributing to the economic growth and integration of the region. 
CoreCo Central America Fund I is managed by CoreCo Management, Inc., a local fund manager with presence and business networks across Central America. Based on the individual track records of the fund managers, CoreCo is expected to add significant value to its investees by improving operational and financial management, corporate governance and environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects among others.
