AFII focuses on a limited number of selective investments (around five per year) over a four to five year period. Its investments range EUR 2.0 – 10.0 million on one or multiple rounds, and are structured through earn-out or similar schemes, favoring self-liquidating instruments. AFII seeks to acquire influential minority or controlling positions in businesses at depressed valuations of 2.0x – 3.0x EBITDA, and becomes actively involved in investee company follow-up, assisting and strengthening management.
AFII is managed by AfricInvest Capital Partners (ACP), a generalist private equity/venture capital fund manager operating in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Maghreb region, headquartered in Tunisia. ACP is owned by Tuninvest Financial Group and FMO. ACP manages numerous private equity funds. For AFII ACP collaborates with the following local investment partners: Fidelity Capital Partners in Ghana, IBTC Ventures in Nigeria, Togo-based Cauris Management for French-speaking West Africa, Cameroon-based CenaInvest for French-speaking Central Africa, MarocInvest in Morocco, and Tuninvest Financial Group for Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria.
