SIFEM announces a leadership transition as Geoff Burns, a longstanding board member, completes his maximum 10-year term. Geoff’s tenure was marked by invaluable contributions to the investment and audit committees, leveraging his extensive experience to steer SIFEM’s strategic direction.
During his tenure, Geoff Burns played a pivotal role in guiding SIFEM through a period of portfolio growth and institutionalization as a means of Switzerland’s international cooperation strategy. His leadership and expertise have been instrumental in advancing SIFEM’s mission to foster sustainable, inclusive economies.
In his place, Margarita Aleksieva was elected as a new Board member during SIFEM’s Annual General meeting held on 2 May 2024. Margarita brings a wealth of experience in areas closely aligned with SIFEM’s strategic priorities, particularly in renewable energy and infrastructure. Margarita’s background and expertise position her as a valuable addition to the board, further enhancing SIFEM’s ability to drive positive change and impact.
