SIFEM invests in EcoEnterprises Partners IV to scale nature-based solutions in Latin America

A women-led nature-capital fund investing Latin American.

SIFEM is pleased to announce a USD 10 million commitment to EcoEnterprises Partners IV, the fourth fund managed by EcoEnterprises Impact Management, a women-led impact investment firm with over 25 years of experience.

EcoEnterprises IV targets a final fund size of USD 150 million and will make 15–20 investments across Latin America and the Caribbean. The fund provides mezzanine and growth capital to small and medium enterprises in sectors such as regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, aquaculture, certified forestry, ecotourism, circular economy, alternative proteins, ag- and climate-tech, and renewable energy. Beyond financing, the fund offers hands-on strategic and operational support to help scale portfolio companies and maximise impact.

By bridging the financing gap for nature-positive SMEs, the fund contributes to biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and inclusive rural development, including livelihoods for indigenous and smallholder communities. Conservation is a particularly important theme in Latin America and the Caribbean, a region which is home to approximately 40% of the world’s biological diversity.

Its women-owned and women-led team also applies 2X-aligned gender-smart practices across its investments.

This investment fits SIFEM’s mandate to promote private-sector growth that advances sustainable development, fosters climate solutions, and supports job creation in emerging markets, alongside peer DFIs such as IDB Invest, FMO, JICA, IFC and FinDev Canada.
